Terms & Conditions – Hair Artist Competition 2026

Effective Date: April 10, 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern participation in the Hair Artist Competition (“Competition”) operated by Mobalon LLC and its affiliated entities, including Mobile Charities, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. By registering for or participating in the Competition, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions in their entirety.

1. Eligibility The Competition is open to individuals of any age, gender, race, ethnicity, or nationality. No prior barber, cosmetology, or professional license is required to enter. Participants may be seasoned professionals, students, or enthusiasts. Minors under 18 must obtain parental or legal guardian consent to participate. Employees, officers, directors, and immediate family members of Mobalon, its sponsors, and judges are not eligible.

2. Entry Requirements and Fees

  • The entry fee is $100 USD per entry (non-refundable).

  • Only 100 competitor spots are available for the first round on a strict first-come, first-served basis.

  • Two formats are accepted: a) Hair Art performed on real human clients, or b) Hair Art performed on official Mobalon cowhide pieces (purchased separately for $97 for two pieces).

  • Each entrant must submit: high-resolution before-and-after photographs, additional photographs clearly showing the entrant with the completed design, and a short proof-of-work video demonstrating the full creation process from start to finish.

  • Multiple entries may be permitted up to a maximum number (to be confirmed on the website). Sub-entries may be allowed under a primary entry with reduced voting weight.

  • All entries are subject to review and approval. Mobalon reserves the right to reject any entry that does not meet standards.

3. Competition Format and Timeline The Competition consists of three stages:

  • Stage 1: April – July 2026 (public voting in July)

  • Stage 2: August – October 2026 (public voting in October)

  • Stage 3: December 2026 Grand Finale – live and in-person at the Mobile Salon Expo in Dallas, Texas

Top winners from each round advance automatically. Exact dates and deadlines will be posted on mobalon.com/competition.

4. Judging and Voting Winners are determined by a weighted combination of three judging groups:

  • Public votes (small fee required per vote to ensure legitimacy)

  • Celebrity judges

  • Sponsor/Corporate judges

Vote tallies will be displayed in real time. Mobalon reserves the right to adjust weighting for fairness. All judging decisions are final.

5. Prizes and Awards Prizes for the July round include cash awards from $10,000 (1st place) down to $500 (5th place), with 6th–10th place receiving entry fee refunds. All top 10 receive official trophies. Top winners advance free to the next round. The Grand Finale winner receives a $150,000 custom mobile salon bus plus larger trophies. Additional sponsor prizes may be added. Prizes are non-transferable and subject to tax reporting where required.

6. Charity Commitment A substantial portion of all entry fees, voting fees, and Competition profits will be donated to Mobile Charities (mobilecharities.org), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Funds primarily support the HHH Charity (Haircuts for the Helpless and Homeless) and other mobile-focused charities serving shelters, schools, veterans, and low-income families. Financial summaries will be made available upon request.

7. Intellectual Property and Media Rights By submitting an entry, you grant Mobalon, its partners, sponsors, and licensees a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, display, modify, broadcast, and distribute your submitted photos, videos, name, likeness, and Hair Art designs for promotional, marketing, advertising, and broadcast purposes across all platforms, including Mobalon TV, Hair Art TV, social media, websites, and print materials.

8. Code of Conduct and Disqualification Participants must maintain professional conduct. Any form of cheating, copyright infringement, harassment, false statements, or inappropriate behavior may result in immediate disqualification without refund. Use of AI-generated or stolen designs is strictly prohibited.

9. Limitation of Liability To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mobalon and Mobile Charities shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from participation in the Competition or use of any prize. Participants agree to release and hold harmless Mobalon from any claims related to the Competition.

10. Changes to the Competition Mobalon reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel the Competition, rules, prizes, or dates due to unforeseen circumstances. Any changes will be posted on the official website.

11. Governing Law These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Dallas County, Texas.

Additional Legal Notes for Hair Artist Competition Terms & Conditions

  1. Binding Agreement and Non-Refundable Fees By completing registration and paying the $100 entry fee, each participant enters into a binding agreement with Mobalon LLC and Mobile Charities. All entry fees are non-refundable under any circumstances, including disqualification, withdrawal, or cancellation of the Competition. The limited 100-spot capacity is strictly enforced on a first-come, first-served basis; once filled, no further entries will be accepted for that round.

  2. Originality and Proof-of-Work Requirements All submitted Hair Art designs must be 100% original works created solely by the entrant. Use of AI-generated content, stock images, copied designs, or third-party artwork is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification without refund. Entrants must provide clear proof-of-work videos showing the full creation process, before-and-after photographs, and images tying the entrant to the finished design. Failure to meet these standards may void the entry.

  3. Voting and Judging Discretion Public voting, celebrity judging, and sponsor judging are conducted using a weighted system to ensure fairness, but all final decisions regarding winners, scoring, and tiebreakers are made at the sole and absolute discretion of Mobalon. Real-time vote displays are provided for transparency, but Mobalon reserves the right to adjust, suspend, or terminate voting if technical issues, fraud, or irregularities are suspected. No correspondence will be entered into regarding judging decisions.

  4. Prize Acceptance and Tax Responsibility All prizes, including cash awards and the $150,000 mobile salon bus, are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes. Winners are solely responsible for reporting and paying all taxes. Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and have no cash value except as expressly stated. Mobalon may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable.

  5. Intellectual Property License Grant By submitting any photographs, videos, or Hair Art designs, each entrant irrevocably grants Mobalon LLC, Mobile Charities, their sponsors, partners, and licensees a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, display, broadcast, distribute, and create derivative works from the submitted materials for any promotional, marketing, advertising, educational, or commercial purpose across all media platforms, including Mobalon TV, Hair Art TV, social media, websites, print, and future competitions.

  6. Charity Donation Transparency While a substantial portion of entry fees, voting fees, and all Competition profits are donated to Mobile Charities (a registered 501(c)(3)), Mobalon makes no guarantee of the exact percentage or timing of donations beyond what is publicly stated. Participants and voters acknowledge that charity distributions are managed by Mobile Charities in accordance with its mission and applicable nonprofit laws. Financial summaries will be made available upon reasonable request.

  7. Participant Conduct and Disqualification Participants agree to maintain professional and respectful conduct at all times. Any behavior deemed inappropriate, including but not limited to harassment, cheating, false statements, copyright infringement, or actions that bring the Competition into disrepute, may result in immediate disqualification, revocation of prizes, and permanent ban from future events. Mobalon’s decision on disqualification is final and not subject to appeal.

  8. Release of Liability and Indemnification Participants voluntarily assume all risks associated with creating, submitting, and performing Hair Art, including any injury, damage, or loss related to tools, clients, travel, or prize use. Each participant releases, indemnifies, and holds harmless Mobalon LLC, Mobile Charities, their officers, directors, employees, sponsors, and agents from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from participation in the Competition.

  9. Privacy and Data Usage Personal information collected during registration and submission will be used solely for administering the Competition, communicating updates, and fulfilling prizes. By entering, participants consent to Mobalon’s Privacy Policy and agree that their name, likeness, city/state, and submitted content may be publicly displayed and used for promotional purposes. Participants may opt out of non-essential marketing communications.

  10. Force Majeure and Amendments Mobalon shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform due to events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, pandemics, government orders, technical failures, or venue unavailability. Mobalon reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel the Competition or any portion thereof at any time. Any changes will be posted on mobalon.com/competition and will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued participation after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
